It seems that Trump is referring to the attack on SolarWinds software that hacked some government agencies. However, President Trump said that the attack was not as big as media reports and “The Cyber Hack is far greater in the Fake News Media than in actuality”, he added.
He also criticized many media outlets for ignoring China as a potential source of the attack. Accordingly, in a recent report, SolarWinds stated as many as 18 thousand customers might have used the infected software. The company ignored all warnings that its software could be accessed by simple passwords.
CEO of Dominion Voting Systems, John Poulos, said that during a hearing in front of the Michigan Senate oversight committee on December 15, he said the company had never used the SolarWinds Orion platform which experts say was hacked since last year.
He added that the company does not use the SolarWinds Orion package, which was the subject of the Department of Homeland Security's report from December 13.
However, the press claims that Dominion did use SolarWinds technology. Dominion later changed the homepage to remove any references to SolarWinds, but SolarWinds is still in the source code of this company's website.
